System Administrator-Team Lead

Job Summary

The Purple Guys is expanding our world class IT support from Kansas City to St. Louis.  This position will be the lead technical/project resource in the St. Louis area as we grow and expand our team.  You will be responsible for providing world class IT support for our customers in a variety of ways.  You will be leading the support to our St. Louis based customers, managing multiple projects across our various customers, performing the work and serving as a mentor and escalation point for technical issues as the team grows and communicating project status to our customers.  You will be supported by our 24 person team based in Kansas City including our 15 person service desk and 5 person project support team.  You will also be involved in the growth of our St. Louis team.

  • 3+ years team leadership experience
  • 5-7+ years providing:
  • Strong PC and Microsoft Server Support
  • Experience working with Exchange and SQL
  • Networking experience, including working with Cisco switches and firewalls
  • Desired Certifications:  A+, Network+, Microsoft Certification(s), Security+, CCNA
  • Customer-focused
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to effectively handle competing priorities
  • High degree of initiative, motivation and enthusiasm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the Technical Leader in our St. Louis office, providing support for multiple customers in the metro-St. Louis area
  • Participate in the scoping and creation of all project plans with the Kansas City team
  • Provide Project Management oversight for all on-going St. Louis project efforts
  • Perform the actual project execution with the support of Kansas City team members as needed
  • Serve as an escalation resource for the Service Desk team
  • Work with scheduling to ensure projects are completed on-time
  • Conduct daily project team debrief conference call
  • Participate in Customer Meetings and travel to customer sites as Needed
  • Assist with pre-sales project scoping as needed
  • Complete Three Hours of Volunteer Work Each Quarter
