Senior System Administrator

This position is responsible for addressing incoming support requests submitted by Purple Guys customers; providing hands-on server and infrastructure implementation and support; managing activity to ensure support is provided within SLA;

  • This position is responsible for providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers, documenting the customer’s technical configuration/architecture and escalating issues when appropriate;
  • Responsible for recommending changes to customer environment to improve performance and escalating issues when needed; identifying opportunities to fix recurring issues or provide end user training to reduce recurring calls;
  • Responsible for effectively and professionally communicating with customers, and providing excellent follow up communication with the customers;
  • Effective and efficient execution and management of daily priorities and day to day assigned service desk tickets; effective and efficient service ticket completion and handling issues in a manner and timeframe consistent with company standards;
  • Responsible for timely entry of all notes and documentation daily;
  • This position is responsible for maintaining technical certifications and proficiency; research and staying aware of industry trends and best practices, and sharing this information with the team and management;
  • Engaging in on-site support as necessary and assigned; traveling to customer sites as needed (KC area only);
  • Provides World Class Computer Support by providing prompt and efficient service;
  • All Purple Guy team members are expected to participate in weekly staff meetings and complete a minimum of three (3) hours of volunteer work each quarter;
  • All Purple Guys team members are expected to meaningfully express themselves either internally or externally to better develop ideas and viable solutions; every team member is expected to operate with integrity, care about the success of our clients, work hard and take pride in the work they produce;

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience, Bachelor in Related Field, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience preferred.  A+, Network+, Microsoft (MCSA or MCSE), Security+, CCNA or other technical Certification(s) are desired;
  • Demonstrated extensive PC and Microsoft Server Support knowledge and experience working with Exchange and SQL preferred;
  • Extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures regarding IT and providing Customer focused PC and Microsoft Server Support, and demonstrated networking experience including working with switches and firewalls;
  • Demonstrated strong oral communication skills, organization, facilitation, and communication and presentation skills along with a high degree of initiative, motivation and enthusiasm;
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material and ability to handle multiple, competing and changing priorities; ability to thrive within a fast-paced, high pressure environment, and ability to perform effectively without supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines and excellent problem solving ability;
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally, and provide exceptional service, both internally and externally at all times.

They are expected to have a positive attitude and strong moral character.
